Rounding off the weekend with Deal Tri’s runners updates.
The social run on Sunday morning had 3 distances (13, 7 and 4 miles), ending for breakfast at Wetherspoons on Ramsgate seafront. Someone said it was like the French Riviera ☀️🌊⛵️ Richard Price went from breakfast straight to fish and chips!
Mark Lord got a volunteer credit at Betteshanger Park Junior parkrun, which is every Sunday at 9am, a 2k course with lovely marshalls.
There’s lots of other training going on – some ‘anti social’ runs or walks where people go out solo, like Ash Roberts-Moyle, Sue Bolton checking the Dinosaur 10k course, and Catherine Chapman-Jones and Abi Darrell enjoyed a beautiful 6 mile walk along the beach.
Lisa Buckler and Tina Barton conquered their separate 18 milers and Chris Barry discovered on his 6 miler near Ely that the Fens aren’t flat!
Jane Wisbey worked Walmer and Deal Seafront parkrun into her weekend 15 miler, a great run down from St Margaret’s and back up again. John Richards completed marathon 2 in 2 days on Runbelievable summer party day 🎊
Finally a shout out for a junior tri participant from a few years ago, Rory Sharvill, who finished Ironman Cardiff yesterday in 5hrs54 minutes. Congratulations, Rory.
