Techless Guess:
😎 Your mission – remove all tech, predict your finish time over the distance given (mm:ss and after if you like!), run it, get timed at the finish – most accurate guess wins!
ℹ️ this is NOT a race – first finisher is not necessarily the winner! It’s a bit of fun, free of charge, see what happens
↔️ 5k (as close as we can get it) – you’ll be given the route on the night
👥️ members only, everyone welcome, but need everyone finished by 7ish due to losing daylight
❌️🏃🏼♀️🏃♂️ no pacing – everyone does their own run
🛍 bring a sandwich bag with your name on
🕑 Sept 17, 5.45pm meet at the Lifeboat Station, The Strand, Walmer, for prompt 6pm start
✍️ work out your predicted time, and give it to Chief Timekeeper Mark Baldock
⌚️📱🧡 take off all tech – your watch, heart rate monitor (unless you need it for medical reasons), earphones, and put it with your phone and any other tech into your sandwich bag, and put that in the big box
🕑 you’ll be told the route after that, and the group will start together at 6pm sharp
🏁 there will be a finish line, 2 timekeepers and a funnel (likely cones on the floor) like at parkrun. Please stay in your finish order after the timekeepers and take a token at the end of the funnel
✍️ Mark will get your time from the timekeepers and once everyone has finished, the times will be calculated and the runner closest to their prediction, wins!
💾 if you’d like your time for Strava, we can give it to you for you to upload a manual activity, if you like
🏆 there’s a trophy for the Best Guesstimator
