Deal Tri had a solid team at the Howletts Cheetah 5k today. This is a surprisingly undulating course within the wild animal park.
John Beaman finished first in our team and 3rd in his age group.
Janine Hegarty was the first female Deal Tri runner to finish, Beth Wild ran strong and it was good to see Bryony Langley running again. Our recent Couch to 5k graduates Steve Mckenzie, Louise Ashington, Lorraine Hall, Karl Prior, Michelle Hocking, Michaela Henniker their debut in the orange train. Vickie Pearcy ran this 5k and then went on to second event over in Thanet!
The Harbour Wallbanger 2026 did not disappoint. This tough race, hosted by Thanet Road Runners, starts in Broadstairs, goes across the sand to Ramsgate and back, 7k in total.
First Dealie home was Karen Ash, who was also 3rd woman overall and 1st in her age group, with
Nikki Smith finishing 2nd. Ange Taylor swept up 4th place in her age group, with Catherine Chapman-Jones followed her.
First male Dealie home was Nick Harrington, followed by Stuart Goodall who was chased down by Amy Harrington. Anthony Sheehan made his Wallbanger debut today, finishing ahead of Vickie Pearcy who had double booked and had already done the Howletts Cheetah 10k that morning!
Lorraine Lyons conquered the Copenhagen half marathon, well timed to finish before a massive downpour.
David Feasey and Emma Chalkley did the Tough Mudder in South London. That’s like an obstacle course with electricity and mud – good fun if you like that sort of thing 😁
Our 3S social run had an outing with several intrepid explorers finding the path with the tallest nettles in Kent, and one solo runner running the inclines around Northbourne and Betteshanger 🧡
