Congratulations to all the Senior runners who outran the Dinosaur on Sunday!
The Dinosaur is named after one of our founding members, Roger Frances Derby, who called himself a Dinosaur, even though he was only in his 40s! The event was named after him after he passed away from skin cancer in the early 2000s.
The event has largely stuck to the same route since it’s birth 45 years ago – it goes flat, up a slight incline, up a hill, down a slope, up an incline, up a hill, flat, up a slope, up an incline, down a hill, up a slope, down hill all the way back to the finish. If you like hills, this is the race for you!
273 Seniors completed it, with 1st male finisher Wegahta Zerom (Ashford AC) in a superfast 32:08, and 1st female finisher Abbie Kirkham in 40:10.
