They say the sun shines on the righteous, well what a good bunch we must all be. After an atrocious Saturday the sun shone for exactly 3 hours on Sunday June 7th to allow for competitors and marshals to take part in the White Cliffs Sprint Triathlon and Junior Aquathlon hosted by the Leisure Centre who were as supportive as always. Whilst the triathletes were all fantastic and I loved the junior aquathlon where enthusiasm comes in bucketfuls it was the 65 marshals that made the event work as well as it did. Thank you so much everyone of you.
Within a blink of an eye the Centre, at 6am, on the 7th June was turned into a Triathlon/Aquathlon course full of athletes, wide awake (well most of them) raring to go. Thank goodness for the team building the Gantry as I had visions of returning to Primary School Sports Days with a piece of tape for the finishing line however all went well and the finishing area looked great.
At 7.00am the first competitor hit the water and by 9.00am the final competitor crossed the finishing line with lots of fantastic performances in between and lots of cheering from the medal givers.
