Saturday swimming & a new development course starting 6th Sept
Saturday: Coaching is term time only. Seniors, Juniors and Development. We are starting again on 6th September at 6pm. We must schedule ourselves around pool closures due to other swimmer’s galas, but this is my current understanding (also in the new calender)
Tuesdays: We swim every Tuesday 7-8pm under Darren’s care. All year round, come hell or high water – or at least so long as the Dover leisure centre pool is open! Christmas dates to be confirmed.
The number of swimmers have been down during the summer days as a lot of our members are enjoying the sea, so it is a really good time to take that first step, get some good instruction and keep your fitness up. Registration is not necessary but if you are new, let me know you are coming, and I can look out for you. Be at the reception area at 6.45pm and bring fins, pull buoy and float if you have them – but don’t worry if you don’t.
Juniors
We are so lucky to have Ellie, supported by Phil to teach, encourage and guide our youngsters to achieve their full potential. And she makes sure that they get to play and have fun too.
So, if you have a new junior member who would like to join our Saturday group, drop me a line for more information. We have 2 lanes for 2 different levels of ability. This is a wonderful opportunity for our lucky youngsters. No need to book – see you at reception fifteen minutes before the session starts.
Seniors
Torren capably and kindly looks after and guides the senior swimmers. We have 2 lanes for our adults. And we have fun too.
New Development course
Development swim short courses start regularly and are coached by Darren. The next 7 week session Number 33 starts October 25th. We are aiming for the “can do front crawl but not very far” level of standard. Please email Rebecca on swim@dealtri.co.uk if you are interested. Get your names down now.. These are normally very popular sessions. The initial plan to start 6th Sept had to be cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control.

Course 33
400m Time Trials
Tuesday 4th November
Twice a year we check our times over a 400m or 200m stretch. It’s a bit of fun and you are competing against yourself or your peers. Set yourself a new challenge for the next one. If you look on the link below you can see how fast you were last time.
Other dates tbc however our development gala will be beginning of March 2026, the East Invicta gala is normally beginning of April, and we will have another 400m/200m Time trial mid-April.
