“Amazing day out yesterday at the Chillswim Windermere 11 Mile End to End Swim. Managed my longest swim by far, everything went roughly to plan, although I got pretty cold – the sea is much warmer than the lake. It was really hard work (as expected) esp the choppy bits! Just over 7hrs for 11 miles/18 km, was 3rd in skins age group. Event was so well organised with nearly 450 swimmers, there always seemed to be a safety kayak near me, and it was beautiful esp then the sun came out and lit up all the mountain surrounding the lake. Would highly recommend the Chillswim events if anyone is looking for ‘longer’ swims. Aching now!!
The lake is much colder than the sea – Ummmm! You are inspirational Chris – who is enrolling for next year?
