This Sunday was a day with all 4 seasons in one go! Runners (and I’m sure cyclists) had to arrange their plans around the weather forecast.
Our usual Sunday social run had been planned for 3 distances to finish at Wetherspoons in Ramsgate for breakfast, and a train ride back, was postponed due to the incoming thunderstorm, so we kept it shorter and closer to home. The route went out from Tides to Sholden, Mongeham, Ripple, Walmer, back into Deal, halfway to Sandwich and back โ hilly but rewarding.
Stuart Phillips completed the Cliffe Woods 5 Miler, it looks like he won on the weather front! Well done, Stuart.
Dave Hoile chose a lovely route from the middle of Sandwich, out to the Bay and back, covering 8 kilometres, and Holly Rye ground out a shortish, sharp, tempo run, finishing with a recovery period on the beach โ very therapeutic.
Lots of others went out on their various planned runs, for various targets โ whether it was marathon training, cross training, triathlon training or good old unwind and destress training โ it all counts and it all works.
