Deal Tri Swim Development gala 2026
The annual friendly development gala for ALL our members – Juniors and seniors – doggy paddle or race dive – and a few special masters guests from DLGC
The whole object of this Development Gala is for you to come along and experience a Gala in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. You get to have a go at swimming other strokes, over quite short attainable sprint distances and you get to cheer your friends on too. We have booked the pool for two hours so it should be less frantic this year and you will have time to cheer on your mates. There are 10 different events, and you can enter as many or as few as you wish, all for the total sum of £5 (Deal Tri Members) or £10 (non-members).
And when we corelate the results you can see how fast you were!
Results from last year are on this page… https://www.dealtri.co.uk/swim/swim-results/
Final date for submission of forms is Wednesday March 4th Midday and not lunch time 3rd as it states on the form.

Some comments from last year’s ”
Saturday 1st March 2025 saw 49 swimmers, with a 79 year age gap between the youngest and oldest competitor, take part in the 2025 Deal Tri Fun Development Gala. There were 41 different races encompassing all 4 strokes and with distances from 25m to 100m.
The emphasis of this gala is very much “come and have fun and give it a go” and everyone seemed to be full of smiles throughout the, at times, rather manic schedule as we tried to get through all the heats before the public came in for some somewhat more gentile swimming!A huge thank you goes to everyone involved in the organisation of this evening. Swim Captain Rebecca steering the ship and volunteers George Simcox, Tony Millar, Dan Rayment, Caroline Dack, Jez Dack, Sue McHugh, Kathryn Hewitt, Helen Hill, Sophie Peach, Jo Van Velzen, Kiara, Peter, Gloria Riley, Jax Lee, Jenny Rayment and Roz Pleasance. The event could not go ahead without all these people giving up their Saturday evening to help out.Sadly, it was our first gala without Ian’s wisdom and guidance, but I very much hope he looked down on us, rolled his eyes at us a few times but ultimately grinned and told us we did well.
See you all next year for more fast and furious fun in the pool.”
