SUMMARY:Deal Dinosaur 10k (Senior) 2026
DESCRIPTION:Senior Dinosaur 10k start time: 10:00 \nLocation: 2nd Deal Sea Scout Hut\, Marine Road\, Deal \nHost: Deal Tri \nOrganiser – Sue Bolton \nThe entry portal for 2026 can be found by following the link here.\nClick here for the 2026 Junior 1500m event. \nClick here for 2025 results. \nThe Deal 10K race\, in its 44th year  in 2026\, is called The Dinosaur in fond memory of club co-founder Roger Francis-Darby\, who sadly died of skin cancer in 2000. During his competitive running\, duathlon\, and multisport career he often referred to himself as an old dinosaur (despite being in his mid-50’s) so when he passed away\, we changed the name of the Deal Regatta 10k to the Dinosaur 10k. \nWe give a significant percentage of the profits from the race to the Canterbury Hospital Skin and Dermatology Department each year\, as well as donating to the Deal\, Walmer and Kingsdown Regatta Association. \nDeal Tri would like to thank sponsors and supporters: \n\nDeal Trophies and Engraving for our Senior and Junior trophies and Junior medals\nthe Medal Studio for the Senior medals\nProtein Rebel for their generous discount code for all entrants\nand thanks to everyone who enters this event to help us raise funds for these local charities\n\nEntry \nAdvance entry for this race is managed entirely online by Sport Systems Limited. \nAffiliated runner               £16 (+£2.70 Service Fee) \nUnaffiliated runner          £18 (+£2.70 Service Fee) \nOn-the-day entries (£20 affiliated and unaffiliated\, £5 Junior plus any fees) will be subject to availability and are not guaranteed. \nRace Start Times \nThe Deal Dinosaur 10K will commence at 1000. \nRace Location \nThe Deal Dinosaur 10K starts and finishes on Deal Seafront\, near the 2nd Deal Sea Scouts building\, Marine Road\, Deal\, Kent\, CT14 7DN. \nClick here for the route – this is a KEEP LEFT RUN (unless directed by a marshall). \nRace HQ \nThe race HQ will be at the 2nd Deal Sea Scout building on Deal seafront (w3w ref. ///duck.voters.spot). \nParking \nCar parking is available in the Middle Street Pay & Display Car park in Deal town centre (w3w ref: ///tides.fines.foster)\, the Borrow Pit Car Park in Walmer (w3w ref: ///swooning.glitter.refutes) and on local roads in Deal & Walmer – please park responsibly and avoid inconveniencing local residents. \nToilets \nPublic toilets are available very close to race HQ on Marine Road (w3w ref: ///composers.faded.recall) and in Deal town centre (w3w ref: ///stop.gently.tall). The event team will not handle your bags and you will be responsible for labelling them clearly. \nRace Number Collection & Registration  \nRace HQ opens at 0800 for collection of race numbers and registration of on-the-day entries (if available). Your race number must be worn on the front of your shirt only: do not attach your number on your legs or back or you may not receive an accurate time. Please make sure that you do not damage the chip as this may impact your recorded race time. \nPlease note that only the person to whom the race number is issued may wear that race number. Any unauthorised transfers are strictly prohibited; it is vitally important that we know who is running on the course in the event of a medical emergency. \nPlease ensure that you complete your medical and emergency contact details on the reverse of your race number and mark the front of your bib with a cross (pens can be found at Race HQ) if you have a medical condition that first aiders should be aware of in the event of an emergency. This is a racing requirement. \nRules And Permits \nThe event will be run under UKA rules. The race permit\, course measurement certificate and risk assessment will be on display at race HQ on the day of the event. \nTerms and Conditions here. \nSafety \nThis event is being held in accordance with the requirements for UKA licensing\, therefore athletes must not be accompanied by cyclists or dogs on any part of the course. Regrettably the course is not suitable for participants in wheelchairs. All runners are asked to please follow the marshals’ instructions during the race. \nMost of the race is held on open roads\, therefore it is essential that athletes remain aware of their surroundings at all times. In line with this requirement\, the wearing of all headphones\, save for the types specifically approved by England Athletics (i.e. bone conducting headphones) is forbidden. If using bone conductors\, the volume must be at a level to clearly hear marshalls\, other runners and traffic. \nCourse \nStarting on Deal seafront\, the course heads south through Walmer and turns inland to circle the undulating borders of the village of Kingsdown before returning to the seafront and heading north for a flat final 4k. \nThe 10 kilometre out-and-back course distance is certified as accurate (SEAA no 18/058); the surface is tarmac with a 40m section of metalled trail present over the second kilometre. There will be kilometre markers along the route and the race will be fully marshalled: cyclists will precede the lead runner and follow the last runner. All road sections will be open to road traffic (except from one junction)\, and the seafront will be shared with pedestrians\, dog walkers and cyclists. \nDrinks \nThere will be a well-stocked water station at the start/finish\, and two further water station located close to the 4km and 7km markers. \nFirst Aid \nMargate Ambulance Corps will be in attendance for the duration of the race to provide first aid.
