DESCRIPTION:    \nResults now available on the Sports Systems site – https://events.sportsystems.co.uk/results/ \nDeal Tri are pleased to announce that the Deal Tri Half Marathon 2026 will take place on Sunday 15th Feb on the quiet rural roads through the villages of Betteshanger\, Northbourne\, Ripple\, Sutton\, East Langdon and Martin.  The race starts on Betteshanger Road\, opposite the entrance to Betteshanger Park. \nThe online entries are available from the Sport Systems website here \nOr you can download and print an Entry Form here. \nAffiliated to a UKA club £20 \nUnaffiliated £22 \nOn the day £30 \nThe Junior 1500m race is along the cycle path on Betteshanger Road\, starting at 10.45 at the Half Marathon start location. £4 online pre-entry\, £5 on the day. \nResults will be available on Sport Systems website and attached as a download on our Results page. \nAny queries please contact Jill Cliff on runnerbeano@hotmail.com or Liam on liam.burke@sportsystems.co.uk \nYou can view the race terms and conditions here. \nAll finishers receive a Deal Tri Half Marathon boot bag and a lovely slate medal coaster.  We continue our mining theme to commemorate Betteshanger Park being built on Betteshanger colliery\, with this year’s slate medal picturing a miners lamp used at Betteshanger. \nUsing an accurately measured course the challenging route takes in the scenic Kent countryside surrounding Deal. There will be water stations located at 3\, 5\, 7.5 and 10 miles and you can view a route map here.  There are toilets at our sponsors Mutleys Plant Services Ltd at mile 5 (what luxury!) \nThe race headquarters are based at Betteshanger Park where there will be toilets and additional toilet facilities will be situated close to the start and finish area. You are also able to leave any jackets or jumpers at the start/finish in the white van\, however it is not to be used for luggage and will not be monitored all the time. \nThere is ample parking available at Betteshanger Park and you are advised to leave all belongings in your car (except outer layers which can be left near the start). Please note the parking charge is £5.50 for 3+ hours\, or up to 1 hour £2.50\, up to 2 hours £3.50\, up to 3 hours £4.50\, payable before you leave the Park.  Charges are for 1 visit only\, ie if you leave and come back in\, you are required to pay a separate charge\, I’m afraid. \nRace entry fees are kept low to allow for this. Car share where possible. And remember the parking fee goes towards the upkeep of this wonderful park. Please do not park on the grass on the roundabout on the A258 as this is not a parking area and inhibits the view of the motorists and supporters crossing the road. \nWe have Winnie\, Flo and Co Catering Van down by the visitor centre\, serving freshly ground coffee\, tea\, and hot chocolate and light snacks.  And the Park catering vehicle will also be in operation. \nThere is a fantastic list of prizes including £50 for first male and female\, plus Podplus prizes and vouchers for 2nd and 3rd placed male and female. Team winners receive a Podplus goody bag..  And age group winners also receive a Podplus Prize!  Many thanks to Podplus for sponsoring our prizes.  Based in Ashford at the Julie Rose Stadium\, they have a super sports shop and offer many services including shoe fitting and biomechanics\, podiatry and chiropody\, physiotherapy\, pilates\, sports therapy\, deep tissue and remedial massage\, reflexology and emotional freedom technique. Definitely worth a visit!! \nAll race numbers are to be collected on the morning of the race so you are advised to give yourself enough time to collect your race number and get to the start on time. \nPlease note that due to the race taking place on open roads\, all headphones are banned for the event\, including bone conducting ear phones. Anyone seen wearing headphones during the race will be disqualified. Please respect this decision by organisers in the interest of your safety so that the marshals can concentrate on their job and not police head phone users.. \nThe race has a cut off time of 2:50 and you must pass through halfway in 1:25. \nJunior Race – starts 10:45 after main race has left. 1500m out and back along the cycle path on Betteshanger Road\, opposite the entrance to the park.  Online pre-entry £4\, on the day £5. Prize giving will be straight after the race at the finish.  Age range up to 16yrs\, with prizes in 2 year bands. \nWe are trying to make this race as Environmentally friendly as possible. So this year we are going for a beautiful slate coaster medal as the finishers’ momento.  You can remove the ribbon if you wish so it can be proudly displayed and used daily on your work desk or at home!  Better still\, pick the option for no ribbon.  Or you can instead opt for Deal Tri to donate £2 to the Woodland Trust on your behalf. You can let us know your choice via the drop down box on the online entry form.   Last year this led to a £48 donation to the Woodland Trust. \nAll finishers also receive a Deal Tri Half Marathon boot bag!! \nIn addition to thinking about the impact of medals on the environment\, we use reusable cups\, healthy low-packaging post-race snacks\, adult prize winners receive useful vouchers rather than trophies\, junior prize winners receive repurposed trophies. Cardboard\, plastic wrapping\, coke bottles\, and even the gel wrappers are all recycled.  Car sharing is encouraged on our race information. DESCRIPTION:Start time: 09:30 \nLocation: Betteshanger Park \nHost: Margaret Reidy \n  \nRound 3 of the Winter Duathlon Series \nOur Novice Section continues to go from strength to Strength with many having a go\, which is why we plan to continue it in this series and hope to encourage more to join us! The duathlon series are not intended to be full on ‘races’\, more about being a friendly\, safe training opportunity with an element of competition built in! As always the duathlons will be open to both club members and guests. \nOur pre-booking format for this event will continue  and you wiill be able to book your  place from  Sunday 21st January  and  upto Saturday 25th January upto 15:00hrs \, via email: res@number1guesthouse.co.uk  \nSenior Duathlon \nRegistration for the senior duathlon (also suitable for our competent  juniors who are 14yrs and above) will open at 8:45am in the Trackside Shelter and the duathlon will start at 9:30am.  Entry fees for this event remain at £5 for members\, £7 for senior guests and £5 for junior guests and the distances are 1.9 mile run\, 10.1 mile cycle and 1.9 mile run. \nNovice Duathlon \nRegistration for the novice duathlon (also suitable for our competent  juniors who are 14yrs and above)  open at 8:45pm in the Trackside Shelter and the duathlon will start at 9:30pm.  Entry fees for this event remain at £5 for members\, £7 for senior guests and £5 for junior guests and the distances are 1.9 mile run\, 6 mile (3 laps) cycle and 1.25 mile run. \nWe will continue also with the  our 2 starts for those over an hour and for those under the hour! \nAlso please remember there is now no barriers in place at the entrance to the park and the parking payment must be paid on the way out via the payment machines located at the visitors centre and the cost is £5.00. DESCRIPTION:DEAL HALF MARATHON 18TH FEBRUARY 2024 \nWell after a dyer forecast\, the sun came out and we had pretty much perrfect running conditions!  Many thanks to all the helpers\, marshals\, sponsors\, Margate Ambulance Corps\, Kev Daly for the commentary\, Raynet for the excellent communication system and Betteshanger Park for hosting us and to Liam from Sport Systems for doing such an excellent job with the entries\, timing ahd results. \nWell done to our winners\, Tom Bean in 1:16:36 and Florence Papougnot\, in a new course record of 1:23:35.  Our age group winners were Nasradine Haroun\, Tom Bean\, George Major\, Gary Barnes\, and David Paramor.  For the females\, Florence Papougnot\, Vicky Scott\, Linnaea Stockall\, and Marie Watson. \nThe team prizes went to Folkestone Running Club for the women and Thanet Road Runners for the men.  Many thanks to Podplus Sports Shop and Injury Clinic for sponsoring our prizes. \nThe junior race was fast to say the least\, won by Edward Owen in 5 mins 25 seconds\, not bad for an 11-12 year old!  A brilliant run for second was Thai Rose in 5:44\, and third place was Raphael Munro.  The age group winners were Edward Owen\, Leo Sargood\, Savannah Hunt\, Macy Godden\, Gabriel Munro\, and Tia Rose. \nHere is the link to the results for the Half Marathon  and here for the Junior race. \nThis year we have raised £783 for research into Pancreatic Cancer.  Deal Tri Club have donated £2 for every Deal Half Marathon entrant to enter a raffle for 2 prizes of 2 box tickets each to see Michael Mcintyre at the O2 on Friday 5th April!  Our winners are Ben Hunt and Dai Jones!   This total includes £76 donated at the point of entry\, £40 on our Enthuse site\, and £127 from tickets sold on the day.  Thank you to everyone who bought tickets and contributed to our final total.  Click on the logo below to go to the Pancreatic Cancer Action website. \nThe Woodland Trust \nWe have also raised £48 for the Woodland Trust as a result of those runners who chose not to receive a coaster or a medal. \nAny queries please contact Jill Cliff on runnerbeano@hotmail.com or Liam on liam.burke@sportsystems.co.uk \nMANY THANKS TO OUR 2024 DEAL HALF SPONSORS
