DESCRIPTION:This is a bit of fun and the opportunity to see how fast you can swim 8 or 16 lengths and whether you are improving.  Then you can time your mates (stopwatches and official looking clipboards provided) and there will be some fun and games to fill in the rest of the session. Do not be scared – it is only as serious as you want it to be – For me – I am just pleased when my goggles stay on and I manage to  finish. My boys\, on the other hand\, tend to get rather competitive wanting to beat  not only their own previous times but more importantly –  each other.  This is a totally inclusive event – our swimmers range from very fast to very very slow and from 90 years of age to 6! There are no excuses. DESCRIPTION:This gala takes place in our pool so there will be no normal swim coaching this evening. \nFrom Torren: “Here are the rules regarding exiting the pool for relay swimmers competing at East Invicta on Saturday: swimmers should exit the pool via the steps as quickly as possible once they have finished but not impede other competitors. The last swimmer should wait until all teams have finished and only exit the pool\, again via the steps\, once instructed by the official.” \nand reminder from Jax \n \nHere is the official program of events  Programme Masters   and the accepted entries Accepted Entries Masters \nIt does not show the heat numbers\, but you can see which event number you are in.  The heats do not get allocated until the day. \nIf we can meet up at 4pm please and get straight through to pool side as soon as they let us. I will have a beautiful orange masters Tshirt for you to wear for the evening\, and Sally will have some Deal Tri caps that can be bought for £5 each. I would recommend wearing a Deal Tri swim cap if you can. It makes it easier for your team mates to cheer you on – and it may encourage the goggles to stay put. \nYou can dive in or start in the water – whatever you prefer! \nRemember your water bottle and maybe a second towel. \nPlease let Jax know you are here – we have to submit a register by 4.15.  I don’t know what we do with the relays if we have No Shows! \nIT WILL BE FUN!!!!! There were 41 different races encompassing all 4 strokes and with distances from 25m to 100m.\n\n\n\n\nThe emphasis of this gala is very much “come and have fun and give it a go” and everyone seemed to be full of smiles throughout the\, at times\, rather manic schedule as we tried to get through all the heats before the public came in for some somewhat more gentile swimming!\n\n\nA huge thank you goes to everyone involved in the organisation of this evening. Swim Captain Rebecca steering the ship and volunteers George Simcox\, Tony Millar\, Dan Rayment\, Caroline Dack\, Jez Dack\, Sue McHugh\, Kathryn Hewitt\, Helen Hill\, Sophie Peach\, Jo Van Velzen\, Kiara\, Peter\, Gloria Riley\, Jax Lee\, Jenny Rayment and Roz Pleasance. The event could not go ahead without all these people giving up their Saturday evening to help out.\n\n\nSadly\, it was our first gala without Ian’s wisdom and guidance\, but I very much hope he looked down on us\, rolled his eyes at us a few times but ultimately grinned and told us we did well.\n\n\n\n\nSee you all next year for more fast and furious fun in the pool.”

DESCRIPTION:This is a bit of fun and the opportunity to see how fast you can swim 8 or 16 lengths and whether you are improving.  Then you can time your mates (stopwatches and official looking clipboards provided) and there will be some fun and games to fill in the rest of the session. Do not be scared – it is only as serious as you want it to be – For me – I am just pleased when my goggles stay on and I manage to  finish. My boys\, on the other hand\, tend to get rather competitive wanting to beat  not only their own previous times but more importantly –  each other.  This is a totally inclusive event – our swimmers range from very fast to very very slow and from 90 years of age to 6! There are no excuses.
