Run report from member Sylvia Barrett, after the River Darent Run:
“The route was more challenging than I expected as I thought rivers are flat ๐ง
But this route took us over so many different paths, we had steps and stiles plus the race had a 5k, a 10k then the 18k, a lot of different paces until I got to 10k then the race did thin out. I continued on the 18k route.
I could see a few ahead of me and I did go past quite a lot of runners in the last 2 miles.
We had a few hills as we came of the River path and in to some very pretty villages this is where the hidden hills were ๐ฑ๐
I took a tumble at about 4 miles but I was ok ๐๐ (bit of a hand injury)
I found this route more difficult then the last one I did on the River, flat banks.
But it was so varied the miles wizzed by. A bit of self navigation required at times but I did stay on route ๐ง
I did really love it despite my fall.
It was a much more low key, family run event which was nice, very friendly,
and a nice bus to take us back to the start as we ran the full length of this part of the River.”
This looks like a beautiful, mixed terrain run. Thanks for sharing this, Sylvia ๐งก
