Fashionably Late “ain’t” in the Deal Tri Vocabulary Anymore!

Our coaches and Committee have noticed that there is an increasing fashion of lack of good time keeping within the Club, whereas the Deal Tri clock runs 10 minutes later than it should…….. We are a great Club but we haven’t yet mastered the ability to change time. Increasingly members are turning up for swim sessions, cycle rides later and later sometimes 10 minutes after the session has started.  This is not only bad manners and disrespectful to the coach who has given up his time for you, the member, to be there, or to the ticket collectors (whose own swim is shortened through your bad time keeping) and group leaders who want to organise the group prior to the ride or run.

Can I please remind members that if a session is advertised to start at a time we will not delay the session waiting for you to turn up.  For swimming there will be no admittance after the session has started from now on.  Please do not get changed and join the session once it has started.

Therefore, please turn up to at least 10 minutes before the session start time (even earlier for the swimming as you need to be showered and in the water at the advertised start time) and be ready to swim, ride or run at the alloted time.

You know it makes sense………… don’t you?

AGM 2009 13th November 2009

Thank you to all the members who attended last nights AGM at The Downs Sailing Club in Walmer.  I would like to thank all the 2009 Committee members who stood down after one years service.

We now have a new Committee in place ready to take Deal Tri forward in 2010.  The Committee is made up of Gary Holmes (Chairman), Jill Cliff (Captain) Jo Hammond (Sec), Kevin Brown (Run), Ian Pettitt (Swim), David Mayes (Cycling), Angie Taylor (Junior), Tim Wiseman (Xcountry), Lionel Wray (membership), Gavin Merryweather (Finance), Richard Horton (Exc.), Kirk Dugard (Exc.), Tony Jones (Exc) Jon Wise (Exc), Pat Kelly (Exc.), Jez Dack (Exc), Lex Dalton (Exc.). The Contacts Page is being updated.

In addition Bridgette Read and Alison Stagg jointly will handle press and publicity matters, and the proven team of Clare Wiseman, Hazel Lander and Sally Scoggins will keep us socialising and partying through the year.

I think that’s everyone! Meetings will take place the second Monday of every month.  The Contacts Page will be updated soon.
