Thanet Marathon and Half Marathons

Yesterday, 3 members were amongst the 231 finishers in the tough Thanet Marathon. Brian Rees, now fully recovered from a recent injury, posted a very impressive 3:20:09 in 27th place. Richard Horton finished his 59th marathon in 4:20:16 and Simon Read cruised in for 4:41:49. The winners time was 2:41:18 which is an indication of the course.
Whilst the hardy 3 were suffering their 26.2 mile turmoil, some other members were racing the 13.1 course. Gordon Findlay had another brilliant run coming in 5th overall in 1:23:11. Gary Winstanley, making a welcome return to racing in Deal colours ran a respectable 1:48.43, and new returning member Leon Goldsack ran 2:10:21.
